Weekend Recap (Jan.15th-18th, 2010) I'm Wearing...

How I love three-day weekends! :) Friday's are fun enough but the fact that on a rare occasion there is just one extra day tacked onto the weekend that's made just for lazing about seems to make it all the more glorious.
Not to mention the weather has finally eased up a tad on the chill factor so instead of the typical 20 degrees we're now up to a mildly decent 40 degrees. Not much, but I'll take it ;)

Now, back to this long weekend! Friday was date night ( I adore date nghts because it gives me a reason to get all dolled up!) Tonight I went ultra chic with a black slim-fitting turtleneck dress I picked up at H&M, textured tghts, over-the-knee boots and this sassy two-sided belt I bought in San Francisco. Simple but sexy.
  • Black Suede Cuffed Knee-High Boots (worn as over-the-knee...by Aerosoles...gift)
  • Textured Fishnet Tights (Forever 21...$5.80)
  • Black Turtleneck Minidress (H&M...$10 on sale!)
  • Two-Prong Black Belt (Marshall's or T.J. Maxx in San Fran...$7...plus I love how easily it adjusts! I can wear it slung low on the hips or right at the waist)
  • Silver Star necklace (for a bit of shine ;)...Found at a flea market in Woodstock...$2)
  • This look requires a very smoky eye!!!! Just sayin...

Saturday night I enjoyed a reasonable night out of debauchery with my girls, Chelsie and Emily. We went out for cocktails and all you can eat/drink sushi which was ironically delicious, as odd as it does sound. For that I opted to wear this awesome blazer that I got in South Africa. I was looking back and pictures of my trip and I wore it a ton, yet I hadn't really given it too much of an NYC test run so this was it's chance to sparkle and this little star did not disappoint! I also went with a collection of cuffs and bracelets for extra pizzazz. I ldo ove pizzazz :)

  • Black Skinny Pants (Forever 21...$16)

  • Merlot Bergundy Ruched Back Tank (Target....$14)

  • Pinstripe Navy Blazer ( South Africa...80 Rand = $11)

  • Knotted Bracelet Cuff (Forever 21...$6.80)

  • Chain Link Cuff (Flea Market in Woodstock...$2)

  • Floral Cuff (Borrowed from a friend)

  • Brown Bondage Boots( Not Shown)
Sunday...I was reorganizing my closet ( an arduous task that is among my favorites ;) and I came across this sick tattered H&M tunic dress. I bought this on sale for $15, I believe, but I had origianlly seen it on http://www.lookbook.nu/
which is like my crack! Anyways, after seeing it I knew I HAD to have it, and just a few short months later, fate knew it as well and let us meet at a strategic H&M sale (This is all how I planned this romantic setting in my head, of course). Needless to say, here I am and here it is. I cannot wait until the summer, I love to pair it with a slim strapped tank and a teeny-tiny mini underneath with nude heels. It's tres chic!

  • Gray/White Cloud Thermal (Charlotte Russe...$16)

  • Black Slashed Top Tunic (H&M on sale...$15)

  • Tan Laser Cut Boots (Marty & Liz...TN...$17)

  • * Necklace (Woodstock Flea Market...$2)

Right here I look like an extra in Flashdance, lol, I love it~! You see, it was laundry day and I had absolutely no clean clothes (That string you see around my neck...bikini top...at least I'm creative ;P) I heart this top and I need to wear it more. It's not just the color but the loose fall that intrigues me about it. It's so effortless and I adore how it looks like it has specks of paint on it. So laissez faire...

  • Purple Draped Tunic ( I just luuuuurve the way this top falls, it's so tragically romatic without trying too hard in this sort of indie rockstar way...Charlotte Russe...$18)

  • Black Skinny Pants (Forever 21...$16...okay, a repeat weekend offender am I, but they are just so G.D. comfy!!!!

  • Tan Laser-Cut Boots (Not Shown...Marty & Liz in TN...$17...boots by Blowfish)

  • Black String Bikini Triangle Top (Worn underneath tunic...$7...also ages old, this baby rocked it out in the college years!)

  • Purple Eggplant Hoodie (Forever 21...$24...this is Forever 21 back in the day...like when it first came out, it's so worn and perfect I can't bear to part with it for reasons of personal depth. It's not my most worn item but it carries memories that are deeper than most oceans. Plus it has this kick-ass Flor de Lis sewn on the back:)

So, it was one whirlwind of a weekend, as they usually are. Still, it was magical to say the least. Each day is a precious gift and we are lucky enough to be in it's presence with all that is going on in the world. So, I hope this next week kicks just as much a**, if not more. Later my loves!
