Today (Oct. 20th, 2009) I'm wearing...

Just when the clouds roll in it seems I'm still able to find the sun shining :) Today the weather is delightfully warm and the city is suposed to get up to 75 degrees again by Thursday!!!

LOL, looking at this pic I look a smidge forlorn, in all actuality I was hungry and maybe just a weeeee cranky when this photo was taken...

Today was most delighful for a few reasons, one is that I am beginning a new venture with my partner in crime, Neil. Hopefully, we won't kill each other...I'll be sure to keep you posted.
Second, my lovely and fashion-loving friend, Chelsie, contacted me today to tell me about a lecture on fashion that is occuring tomorrow night and the speaker's are none other than Robin Givhan ( who has won the Pulitzer Prize for her work writing for the Washington Post and covers the fashion industry from popular culture to Michelle Obama), Isaac Mizrahi (creative director for Liz Claiborne and host of Bravo's "The Fashion Show"...I watched it and I'm not ashamed to say it!!!) Ashley Olsen (who gets cool points alone for just being an Olsen, and is the co-president of Dualstar Entertainment Group and runs two successful brands, The Row and Elizabeth and James) and Cindi Leive (the editor in chief of Glamour magazine & Forbes #1 Most Powerful U.S. Fashion Editor).

WOW!!! Did you take all that in?!?! I'm so giddy :D I cannot wait!!! Hope I can sleep tonight with all the excitement...
  • Denim skinny jeans (Forever 21...$12)
  • Choclate Brown Jeffrey Bay boots (Tyger Valley Mall...LOVE them already and I had always turned up my nose at the "Ugg", although technically these are Jeffrey Bay's ;)
  • Merlot tank top tunic (Target...$14...quickly becoming my favorite basic piece)
  • Black & Gray striped sweater (Goodwill...$5...originally from H&M, I've also been digging on buying clothes just a tad bit bigger for a roomier fit so I can let them sassily fall off my shoulder but still look casual and sloppy chic...hey, it works!)
  • "Leather" jacket (De'Janiero...$20...from last season, still one of my now favorite past purchases. I've really been wearing it out this fall :)
  • Wooden bead necklace (Street vendor here in NYC...$1...it even came with matching earrings but they fell apart in a nano-second but the necklace is still alive and kickin' !!!)
