Today (May 12, 2009) I'm wearing...

Tuesday morning and I woke up feeling surprisingly refreshed!!! :)

I decided that I wanted a touch of Spring color in my ensemble of the day. Late I am meeting up with my amazing friends, Jessica & Kendra for some dinner, cocktails and catch up time so I wanted to wear something that would transition from work over to "hang out with the girls" night. I am really into mixing darks and lights because I think the combination is so flattering. I love this dress and it's hard to see from the angle of the photo but it's got a super flouncy skirt that poufs out a tad and it has a very organic "Under the Tuscan Sun" feel to it...like I might imagine myself in Naples wearing this dress and drinking red wine, lol :P Because the dress is so feminine, I wanted to choose delicate pieces to accompany it, like this chain and my red belt.

The knee socks I love but have never really gotten the chance to wear until now which is slightly sad because the vertical diamond design down the leg is so fabulous! It was their time to shine :)

Fashion advice of the Day:

I didnt' get to iron my dress in the hustle and bustle of getting ready and to keep from looking unruly I used double stick tape to keep the dress laying flat in a flattering fashion (no pun intended, lol) ;)

• Dusty Rose dress (Strawberry's...normally I don't go for such light, super girly colors but every girl should have one article that resembles something slightly pinkish in their wardrobe)
• Black Cardigan (H&M...sooo old!!!!)
• Black & gray diamond knee-socks (99 cent store!!!!)
• Arrow vs heart bracelet (Got this as a gift from a friend...on the back it says 'Tiffany & Co.'!!!!)
• Black patent peep-toes (thrifted...$5)
• Red double gold loop belt (thrifted...$1)

I'm thinking I need to embrace more belts this season...
