Today (September 11th, 2009) I'm wearing...

Today is a day that reflects on our country's ability to hold our heads up high in the face of destruction. 9/11 is upon us on this rainy Friday and it's important that we don't forget to honor those who lost their lives on this ill-fated day. One of my friends went to the memorial at ground zero this morning and it reminded me of the many, many people who were effected by this tragedy and how we need to remember that we are a strong country who can come together in the of times toughest times and find the strength to carry on. My friend showed me a picture she took at the memorial of the twin towers that read below "Home of the free because of the brave."
Never were words more true...

I layered a summery dress over a black short-sleeved turtleneck and tights with black ankle booties. I thought it brought out an edginess to the girlish print. I feel like I would wear this to a punk-rock tea party or something like that, lol. I kept the accessories pretty simple, a wispy gold chain around my neck and a slim black wristwatch.
  • Black ankle boots (Strawberry...$29...they have this adorable little knot feature in the back that just gives them this unique flair. I've had them about a year but I feel like they are really finding a permanant spot in my Fall wardrobe.)
  • Black tights (Target...$9 for a set of 2)
  • Paisley print sundress (H&M...$10 on super sale...it's a gorgeous blousy chiffon material.)
  • Black puff-sleeve turtleneck (Thrift store in TN...$2.00...such a simple basic to have!)
  • Gold chain (Woodstock jewelry market...$2...love it! It's just so delicate and subtle)
  • Watch (Target...$3.48...It's understated and dainty;)
  • Black jacket (De'janeiro...$20)
